The National Geographic recently devoted an entire issue to Water across the globe. The photographs John Stanmeyer provided were especially memorable. In 2009, Stanmeyer traveled the globe for over seven months, documenting how different cultures rely on water for their spiritual rituals. Follow this link to PBS’ Art Beat for a wonderful two minute film clip on Stanmeyer’s pilgrimage!
And here’s two recent additions to the Land Library’s books on water (as you can imagine this is an especially strong part of the Land Library, given our home in the arid West!):
Water and its Spiritual Significance, edited by Gray Henry-Blakemore & Elena Lloyd-Sidle, Written in Water: Messages of Hope for Earth’s Most Precious Resource, edited by Irena Salina
